Meryl Marshall-Daniels, Secretary
Meryl Marshall-Daniels is a facilitator, mediator and executive coach specializing in leadership and organizational development. She has extensive experience as a senior executive in for profit and not for profit organizations and ten years as an independent television producer. She served two terms as Chairman/ CEO and three terms as Treasurer of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Meryl is a Senior Fellow at UCLA School of Public Policy and the Board Chair of Project GRAD Los Angeles helping first generation low income high school scholars enter and complete college. She is also Board Chair of Great Leap, a multicultural participatory arts organization dedicated to environmental and social justice. She received her BA in Sociology from UCLA, JD from Loyola Marymount University School of Law and mediation training at the Center for Dispute Resolution.
Her most recent corporate clients include Stanford University Institute for Computational Mathematics in Engineering, Horizon Media, Encore, MTV Networks, Fuji Communications International, Surfrider Foundation, Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, the Pitfire Pizza Company and ESPN.
Meryl’s career began as a criminal trial lawyer followed by twenty years in the entertainment industry. She was a member of the NBC Senior Executive Management Committee and Vice President of Compliance and Practices. She was recruited to Group W Productions, a subsidiary of Westinghouse Broadcasting Inc. and launched the syndicated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In 1992 she formed Two Oceans Entertainment Group and produced 40 hours of television including movies for NBC-Universal, a series for Discovery Network and the award winning HBO prime time animated series Happily Ever After Fairy Tales for Every Child.
