Marilyn Mason, PhD

Marilyn J. Mason, PhD, President of Mason & Associates, LLC is an internationally recognized consultant and speaker. She consults frequently with corporations (family businesses and Fortune 50 companies), non-profits, foundations, and families of high net worth in areas of governance and management, board development and strategic planning. She focuses on dynamics and succession issues in organizations. She also works in leadership development, personal, and executive coaching. Former faculty at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Mason served as a Dean for The Learning Academy Foundation and is former Counsel to Family Philanthropy Advisors. She was Training Director for Rapid Change Technologies and served as Executive Director of Thornburg Family Charitable Foundation in Santa Fe. She served as President of the International Women’s Forum New Mexico from 2009-2011.

The co-author of Facing Shame (Norton), she has also written Making Our Lives Our Own (Harper). Her third book, Seven Mountains: The Inner Climb to Commitment, published by Dutton, was followed by Igniting the Spirit at Work (Hazelden). Her new book, Becoming a Genuine Leader, will be published Fall, 2013.

Marilyn has been a dynamic presence in Santa Fe playing a leading role in numerous non-profit organizations and contributing significantly to her community.
